Folding knife with bone handle. Eagle in center of blade. Blade marked, “of the Best Quality. Patent Concave. Henry Clay Knife”. Donor info - knife belonged to Henry Somes, a seaman. The tip of the knife was broken off by the Captain of the ship to prevent murders, (perhaps this particular knife happened to be shaped that way). The knife was carried by Somes in the Navy during the Civil War. Henry Somes’ widow married Lewis Somes. She gave the knife to Glendon Lurvey. [show more]
