Description: Pair of blue cobalt vases, 8" high. Vases given to Roscoe and Edna Hysom at their first Christmas (1930) by Kate (Lester) Pray, formerly Kate Heath. She and Julia (Mrs. A.C.) Fernald were sisters. Their mother, Judith Somes Heath (m. Capt. Hirshel Heath), had a house and hat shop between Nuttings and Peppers. Judith and Etta Somes Salisbury were sisters. Kate Heath Pray said that these vases were "very old" when she gave them to the Hysoms, parents of donor (Gail Hysom Reiber). [show more]

Description: Man age 40s. Receding hairline, mustache. Wears military uniform with ME insignia. Dark jacket with two stripes down middle. Unadorned epaulets.. Marked J.E. Purdy and Co. Boston.
Description: Molded head and hands. Body stuffed with wood shavings. Face painted, blue eyes, and hair (red) painted on. Dressed in knit undershirt, knit socks, linen underdress, knee length bloomers, knee length white dress with red buds overall. Lace in mid-bodice and neck. Short sleeves. Costume - long white striped dress, pink sateen slip, white muslin petticoat, matching chemise, both lace edged. Body stuffed with wood shavings. Donor info - belonged to sister (Agnes) of donor.
