Description: Large gold-framed photographic portrait of Mary Ann (Norris) Holmes (1814-1898), wife of Leonard Holmes (1814-1894); mother of Emma Amelia (Holmes) Allen (1859-1929) and Leonard Elrie Holmes (1857-137). Mary Ann and Leonard were married in 1837. Emma Amelia married Melville Leighton Allen. Leonard Elrie Holmes married Mary Ellen Rosebrook.

Manning was a summer resident of Somesville and owner of The Mount Desert House. Manning became Bishop of the Diocese of New York. 1889.
