Mary Bond was the wife of James Bond - the ornithologist who was the namesake for Ian Fleming's character. The Bonds lived in Pretty Marsh on the estate which is now (2012) owned by Joan Fitzgerald.

There are also handwritten notes in French, and a postcard from the donor, which are in a small envelope.
