8 X 10 black and white photograph of two newly hatched birds on sand in middle on frame. One and a half spotted eggs to the right of the birds. Dark straw on left hand side of the photo. Paul Stubing said that this is a picture of three different skiffs shown on floats by Beal's Wharf. However, there are six rowboats upright on the floats. The building in the background is Beal's Wharf. The "Hornet", ID# 246189, is tied up to Beal's. There is a lobster boat with a spray hood next to the float farthest on the right. A man (standing on the float) is holding this boat.

Background brown and gray. Subject is wearing bonnet, shawl, black dress. A hand is reaching from behind sofa to take sheet music. Sarah Kittredge ( 1776-1871) was the wife of Dr. Kendall Kittredge (1773-1857), first doctor on Mount Desert Island. Artist unknown- may be an itinerant painter.
