Description: Framed marriage certificate. Mr. George H. Gilley of Tremont State of Maine and Leona A. Buckminster of Deer Isle. Witnesses E.R. Houston of Deer Isle and A.B. Buckminster. Rev. H. Houston. Feb 6, 1875. Gold insert in frame. Dark finish.
Description: Pig hide, worn at edges. Three large stains on bottom (ink or water). Four metal nobs on bottom of bag. Handle worn - leather sewn over cord which is wrapped with stiff paper. Handle attaches to metal ‘D’ rings and then to metal plate on top of bag. Spring latch with metal ring to pull bag open. Metal edge attached to leather at opening. Two catches close over metal binding. Inside lining torn in several places. One pocket inside. Satchel owned by Mr. Henry Clark owner of Clark and Parker General Store at present site of Oceanarium in Southwest Harbor. [show more]
Description: Side of frame resemble logs with leaves in each corner. Frame nailed together. Gilt edge. Glass in frame. Wood backing. The original nails hold wood in place. Picture hanger made of red cord. Cord tied in loop at top, very worn at loop. Photo # 997-933-1103 removed from frame.

Gilley raised to Master Mason Tremont Lodge #77 Nov 16, 1872”. Signed Feb 6th 1873 by Levi Lurvey, Jacob Carroll, William Stanley, John Freeman. backing intact.
Description: Large, two-wheeled coffee grinder from Fernald's Store in Somesville. Decorative paint and flower drawings. Opening in top for coffee beans topped with eagle; drawer in bottom to hold ground coffee. Manufactured by Enterprise Manufacturing Co.of Philadelphia, PA. Patented Oct. 21, 1879. Dimensions: 27.5" high, 17" wide, wheel diameter 19.5"
Description: Letter dated 16 Jan 1877 from Sadie (?) to her sister Mrs. William Emory. Sadie was a teacher on Cranberry Isle. Letter contains expressions of joy for receiving mail from family, and laments about poor pay and tedious work.

Description: Certificate of Marriage for Capt. Joseph S. King of Tremont and Miss Addie V. Gilley of Tremont June 25, 187_ (last number of year is missing).
Description: Hand-written (in ink) by the pupils of Mt. Desert School for the "instruction and amusement" of the pupils. Includes sayings and poems from newspapers pasted in.
Description: Features children's fashions for August; morning costume, hat for young girl; walking-dress; head-dress (hair styles); bathing dresses; embroidery; music, "Only"; stories; advertisements. Red embroidery-like design on cover.
Description: Canvas bag with pocket on front. Pocket has flap. Small horseshoe decoration at opening. Bottom has four metal “legs. Opens with push button clasp. Inside - one pocket. Leather handle with metal ends attaching to rings on bag. Marked, “Patent April 2, 1872”.
