Description: Collection consists of three boxes of archival files donated by the Seal Harbor Library pertaining to the history of Seal Harbor village and Acadia National Park. Gives a brief description of the talk and a phone number for more informaiton.
Description: Appears to be carved from one piece of wood. Pestle very rough on bottom. Donor info - brought to Somesville by Abraham Somes. Presented to John Allen Somes who inherited from his father John W. Somes.
Description: Ivory inlay marks degrees. Missing round lenses. Has three square lenses. Wood case closes with a hook and also has a lock but no key. Inside case label reads, “Eugene F. Medinger 115 Broad Street Near Front St., New York.”
Description: Purple/maroon landscape. Ships near shore and small houses. Two handles shaped like leaves. Nob on lid shaped like flower. Heart imprinted on bottom. Slot for spoon.
Description: Pastel of Brig Polly. Caption reads, “Brig Polly upset in thunderstorm. 18th Sept 1801”. Shows cattle in water and capsized ship. Man in pilgrim hat and Indian sitting on capsized ship. Donor info - Brig Polly once owned by Somesville and other island residents. Polly now in a Museum in Boston.

Description: Metal tips on each end. Hinge opens and clasp hold spindle inside case. Spindle lifts off iron peg. One side of shuttle has pottery, ivory or bone piece. Marked, “Eaton Bayer”. Donor info - came from woolen mill owned by run by Abraham Somes II and later by his sons Isaac and Lyman Somes. Lyman was the father of the donor.

Description: Heavy box with key lock. Top worn. There are two compartments, one underneath the lid and three smaller compartments in front. Brass lock. Joints nailed. Raw wood inside. This belonged to A.C. Fernald, born 1819 died 1896. Bottle for ink is in front compartment.
Description: Metal blade between two handles used to shave wood. Donor info - found in cove near the mill race in Somesville. Probably used in ship yard formerly on this site.
Description: Very primitive. Carved out of tree limb. Bark on outside. Donor info - belonged to Mr. Hamor who kept store and used mortar to grind snuff.
