Description: Joan Staats, scientist and librarian, died at 78 on April 13, 2000. Joined the Jackson Laboratory as science technician in 1949 and became its librarian . She had to rebuild the library of resource materials after the fire of ‘47 and until her death was an invaluable resource of knowledge for the staff.
