Letter to Mrs George (Mary) Newman, Mother, April 3, 1870 from Nellie M. Pierce, daughter I am still spinning. " I shall be married to morrow sic evening on Sunday. I don't know which and then he is going to Casteen sic. I shall go with him and then I shall come home... I suspect Mother that you think that I am in hast? but Mother I think that I am going to better my condishion (sic). I am agoing have one that is neither got the habit of drinking nor smoking he goes to see for a living he owns part of a vesel. (sic) that he is master of. I would like to have you and father and the boys come down and see me married if you could..." Letter continues after she is married and she says that Emma was the only one to see her married.
