Description: This Bar Harbor Times newspaper clipping describes plans for the construction of a new museum building by the MDI Historical Society. The building to be located on Rt. 102 at the intersection of Oak Hill Road in Somesville was designed by Roc Caivano. A photograph of four unnamed members of the Building Committee is included. Dated May 14, 1981.
Description: Article beginning on p.17 and continued on p.32 describing the disputes on Mt. Desert Island in the early 20th century regarding the use of automobiles on the Island. Addended to the article is a poem, reprinted from Bar Harbor Life, August 23, 1913, entitled "Automobiles, The Mount Desert Town Meeting. Only initials "H.W.S." [Herbert Weir Smyth] identify the author of the poem.

At that time the District of Maine had just five counties and was part of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Members of the various Indian tribes were not inclded in this census.
Description: This videotape is a history of the home "Cragsyde", aka Kragsyde, a design of Robert Swain Peabody. The video includes historic photographs and commentary, by Wheaton Arnold Holden. This home was built at Manchester-by-the Sea, Massachusetts in 1884 for George Nixon Black, the same owner of Woodlawn House, Ellsworth, Maine. The house was torn down in 1929. The house was also reproduced during the years 2005-6, using original plans, by a family on Swans Island. Other house in video is "La Tourelle", built ca 1930, destroyed 1947.
