Metal tips on each end. Hinge opens and clasp hold spindle inside case. Spindle lifts off iron peg. One side of shuttle has pottery, ivory or bone piece. Marked, “Eaton Bayer”. Donor info - came from woolen mill owned by run by Abraham Somes II and later by his sons Isaac and Lyman Somes. Lyman was the father of the donor.

Heavy box with key lock. Top worn. There are two compartments, one underneath the lid and three smaller compartments in front. Brass lock. Joints nailed. Raw wood inside. This belonged to A.C. Fernald, born 1819 died 1896. Bottle for ink is in front compartment.
