This is a collection which is not arranged particularly and could be better organized in the future. For now, our goal is to access the folder and make note of key names and events in the folder so researchers will be able to find the information they are seeking. Desert P.O, Hancock County, Maine, USA with 3 Japanese-like character stamps on the lower left hand side (poor condition) * card belonging to empty envelope in the preceding envelope with the writing "CHRISTMAS GREETINGS from OSAKA JAPAN 1936" on the cover and a typed message inside which has the closing " Yours sincerely, Warren and Joan Reeve" *card entitled "The Union Somesville Meeting House of Mount Desert which is two sided; the front has a description of the church and its governing body; the back as a list of the ministers for the summer of 1951; some names mentioned as members of the governing Council of Representatives are Mrs. Robert Fernald and Mrs. A. Victor Higgins *birthday card presented by Nelson *copy of picture entitled "Outside the Weirs, Bar Harbor, Maine" (perhaps a calendar picture) *letter from the School Department of Cranberry Isles, Mt. Desert, Southwest Harbor and Tremont appointing Fred Smith of Somesville as Attendance Officer for the schools of Mt. Desert which is dated March 7, 1928 and signed by W.E. Clark, Sec.
