Description: Print of W.H. Ballard photograph (stamped and marked by hand as #248-D) Surf is striking rocks extending into the ocean. Relatively flat land on the horizon. Photo has been glued on cardboard. Susan Finkin, 42 Hyde Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866-3806 ,donated the image to the Monhegan Museum Association. The photo was found in the attic of her aunt, Rita White, who was born on Monhegan in 1913 and lived there most of her life. The Monhegan Association wondered if the photo was of a site on Mount Desert Island. (We don't know, as of March 2010! Charlotte Morrill has not seen a copy in the SWH Public Library collection.) Description: James Richardson homestead and barn (Fair Oaks Farm). At time of picture, it was owned by Jones Tracy (1856-1939). Truck in back of barn. Outbuilding to the right of barn. MDI Historical Society likely borrowed the photo album from a collection of Kay Moore, and negatives and a print made. (AB,02/10/2015). Kay Moore is descended from James Richardson, first Richardson settler of Mount Desert Island (1762-3).

Embroidered across fronts. Small folds sewn to make several lines from shoulder about 1/3 down bodice. High collar with lace edge. Upper torso only. Probably a cabinet card but the frame is no longer with the photo.
